This weekend we stayed at my sister's house in Highland because Darrell's test was in Orem. On Saturday we were going to go to Wyoming and stay with Darrell's brother's and then go to their baby's blessing on Sunday. Unfortunately, we ended up not going due to concerns about a winter storm. This morning they were actually requiring chains on all vehicle through one of the canyons we were suppose to go through to get to Rock Springs so, I guess it was best that we didn't go. Before we left my sister's house to head back home, Darrell was playing with my nephew Brigham. It was too cute, I couldn't help but take some pictures. Good pictures of Brigham are pretty hard to get because he won't hold still long enough to take the picture but I thought that I got a few good ones.

He loves cars! I thought he would end up loving princesses and barbies and all those girls things because his spends all day with his big sister and she is definately a girly girl!

In the bottom 2 pictures Darrell had been swinging and throwing Brigham up in the air and they were both having a blast! It was pretty dang cute!

Plumbing

This is going to be short because I really don't have a whole lot to talk about but.......
Today Darrell took his plumbing test (the written portion) to get his journeyman's licence and he passed. Wahoo!! One more test (the practical skills one) next Saturday and he will have his licence! YEAH!! Hopefully, along with the licence, he will get a pay raise. With work being slow he may not get it, but maybe!

This past weekend we took a little roadtrip up to Idaho for my cousins sealing. We split the trip up and stayed in Logan Friday and just drove up to Rexburg during the day and back to Logan Saturday night. They got sealed in the Rexburg Temple. It is a really pretty temple both inside and out, of course all temples are. We got to visit with my extended family for awhile, which we do not see very often so that was cool. On our way back to Logan we stoped off at the Idaho Falls temple and took some pictures of it. My parents, darrell parents, and I believe some of his brothers all got sealed in this temple.
So here is to you mom!

Unforunately we didn't have time to go in and do a session or anything we just went into the visitors center for alittle while and then took the pics and headed south. I did go in acouple years ago when one of darrell's cousins got sealed to her little family.

My mom read somewhere that the average LDS temple attender goes into 3 different temples throughout their life.
Of course the numbers would be different here in utah where all you have to do is drive down I15 and you can see at leat 10 of them, the other 4 or so you have to drive a ways to get to. I asked darrell how many temples he had done work in and he said that he had been to 12. I have been to St. George, which was the first one I had ever been to, Manti, Timpanogas, Logan, Idaho Falls, Rexburg, and the Salt Lake temple. I have been on the temple grounds of many more but those are the only ones that I have been in. I know that, as long as darrell's work permits, in june my cousin is getting Sealed in the Boise temple so I will get to go there and then where ever my brother Nate gets married, either Utah, Arizona, or florida, I may get to go to a new temple then!

Back in the Day

My sister Rachel tagged me on this, so here it is...
1. Who was your first Prom date? Roger Rappeley ( I don't know if I spelled his last name right.)We were both in the orchestra, I played the violin and he played the Base. He was probably 6'5" and I was 5'2", it made for an interesting dance.

2. Do you still talk to your first love? No

3. What was the first time you drove like? I think I was probably 14, maybe 15 but still had a while till I could drive. My brother Keith took me to the church parking lot and let me drive around we kept it a secret so that he didn't get in trouble.

4. What was your first job? Lifeguard at the swimming pool.

5. What was your first car? I drove a hand me down 85'(I think) Chevy Cavalier that my older sister Rachel had driven for a while. I actually loved the car, if I remember right my brother Keith ended up with it after he got home from his mission and then I drove an 85' Honda Accord.

6. Who was the first person to text you today? Haven't been texted

7. Who is the first person you thought of this morning? Darrell

8. Who was your first grade teacher? Mrs Nisson

9.Who was your first best friend, and do you still talk? Maybe Corinne Dewsnup, now Corinne Jones. We were neighbors. and yes we do still talk.

10. Where was your first sleepover? Probably Corinne's house

11. Where did you go on your first airplane ride? To Michigan when we went to pick up Keith when he was done with his mission.

12. Who was the first person you talked to today? Darrell.

13. Who's wedding were you in for the first time? I was a bridesmaid for my sister Rachel. That was actually the only wedding that I have been involved in, except my own of course. Oh wait I may have served at a few weddings when I was younger.

14. What was the first thing that you did this morning? Took some herbal pills and then got to sanding my kitchen table.

15. Who was the first concert that you went to? I don't remember, it was probably my brother-in-laws old band, The Solutions.

16. First tattoo? Freshman year in High school I got a beautiful rub-on for State Swimming. We would hide them under our swimming suits because they could not be seen, they said it would distract the swimmers or something like that. It was one of those things that swimmers do to get pumped up for the race.

17. First piercing? Got my ears pierced when I turned 8.

18. First foreign country you have been to? Mexico- on my honeymoon.

20. When was your first detention? Uh...never had one.

21. What was the first state that you lived in? Good old Utah.

22. Who was your first roommate? Crazy, anerexic, bi-polar grill named Christy. I did not like her very much.

23. First funeral you attended? I don't have a clue. The first one I remember was a great Aunt of mine, I think. I feel bad but I don't even remember her name.

24. Who was your first kiss? Danny Diaz. I belive it was in the 5th grade. and he had a cruch on me and I dance with him at the Christmas dance and he kissed me on the cheek.

25. What is the first thing you do when you get on the computer? Lately I have been checking my blog first to see if anyone has updated their blogs. Acouple of Darrell's brother's wifes have had babies lately and I like to see if they have put any new pictures of their kids up. Then its on to facebook.

I tag whoever wants to do it.

Thank Goodness for Weekends

It appears the only thing that I ever have to talk about these days are my weekends..... So here's to another weekend.....

All of these Pictures were taken at Snow Canyon State Park. It is kind of funny, we have lived here in St George for over 3 years now and Saturday was the first time we have ever been there, we can see if from our back yard but no we had never been there. There didn't really seem to be any absolutely awesome hikes there but maybe we just didn't know where to go. One thing that did look really really fun was all of the rock climing that there is to do there. That is one things that I would love to do. Last year we looked at all the gear that it requires (ropes, harneses, etc...) but it can be spendy and we wanted to make sure that we would use it enough to make it worth it and so far with work as almost unbearably slow that it is, we probably still won't buy the gear! Saturday night we had a ward dinner that was pretty fun. I got Darrell to swing dance with me, which hasn't happened in YEARS!! We couldn't remember all the stunts and tricks that we use to know but it was still pretty fun.

Weekend

This weekend was a pretty good weekend. Friday afternoon we went to go buy some food at the grocery store and ran into an old friend of ours who is in a band and was playing that night at a local bar. We did not have anything at all planned for the weekend, as usual, so we went. It was actually the first time I have ever been in a bar. At the new year they banned smoking in bars, so that was nice that we didn't have to breath in that stuff the whole night. As for the band, they are actually pretty good. The band name is The Closure, I believe. Drunk people really do make fools of themselves. The later the night got the more people triped and stumbled while they dance, slurred their speach and all in all made fools out of themselves. It was kind of funny. Thank goodness I was raised with the gospel and don't live that kind of lifestyle.

Saturday we went hiking up in the hills above St George. Here are some pictures of that.

It was a pretty cloudy day. It actually started to rain alittle while we were there. We left shortly after that
Us! This picture was actually really hard to take because we had to put the timer on the camera and then on of us had to climb back up into this hole we were in within 10 seconds, and we had to get Bandit to sit still that long! Almost impossible!!

And Darrell..... of course, climbing up a cliff! At least it wasn't a 75-100 foot one of however tall the one he fell off was! I actually did try and climb this one, I got about half way up and the found I wasn't tall enough to put my feet in the next foot hold so I climbed back down, with darrell telling me where to put my feet.

Food!

I think that anyone that is reading this blog knows that throughout 2008 I spent alot of time in and out of doctor's offices. There is a drug that I was suppose to get put on this month. After alot of research about the drug, side affect, length of time on it, I decided that I wasn't going to do it! I don't want to be put through all of that! So this is what I have been doing instead. I have decided to go the alternative medicine route. We'll give that a shot and see if I get lucky. If not I'll get up on the drug later. This is my diet: absolutely No Pork, No Sugar, No Salt, and Enriched or bleached Flour (White Flour). 60% of my meal has to be fresh foods, either whole grains, vegetables, or fruit. 40% can be cooked but of the 40% only 15% be meat. I won't get into to much detail on what exactly I can eat but to say the least it is pretty restrictive. I also take a bunch of herbs every day. This diet is what my family grew up on and so it hard but not as hard as it would be for Darrell if I made him do it with me, which I don't. We haven't had a meal where we ate the same thing in about 3 weeks!
So heres to those of you that were wondering what we've been up to because I haven't updated our blog for a long time.
Oh, also Darrell's worked has picked back up since Christmas and is working full time hours again. My work is pretty much non exsistant. I'm alittle embarrassed to say it, but I love it! I love the free time, I love not having to breath in cleaning fumes all day long and my house is alot cleaner on a daily basis now that I'm not cleaning everyone else's homes! I only have 2 houses to clean every week for only 2 hours each house and the I have 4 houses that rotate every other week! I have lost about 7, i think, regular weekly cleans due to the economy. I think that the rental unit cleaning will start to pick up, hopefully, next month.
